Full Proxy Switcher Pro is a free and open-source proxy switcher application. It will allow you to switch between your HTTP and HTTPS connections, allowing you to work with different websites without having to re-enter your username and password each time. This can be useful if you're on a public computer, such as at the library or school, as it guarantees that any data that is intercepted will be unreadable or unaccessable by prying eyes. This application has been around since 2008, but it's still a popular choice for those looking for a simple way to switch between two network connections. It's available for Mac OS X 10.6 or higher and Windows platforms of all versions. It supports proxy servers in the following formats: Socks 4, Socks 5, HTTP Proxy, HTTPS Proxy, and also has support for many different authentication types. The application's user interface features two tabs. The first tab is essentially a settings menu that allows you to select which proxies you want to switch between (this includes auto-detection settings for when it cannot properly detect which type of proxy you're using). The second tab is the status page. The status page will tell you if your proxies are active or not and this page also provides access to controls for the application's built-in browser including Back and Forward buttons. You can also use the refresh button to automatically request a new IP address from the proxy server. Full Proxy Switcher is able to retrieve your IP address through geolocation. By default, it will attempt to retrieve your IP address through your web browser - which you likely already have enabled (unless you've opted out). When using this proxy switcher program, you'll notice that it doesn't feature a preferences menu. That's because there really isn't one - and there probably won't ever be one. However, the developer of this program does offer a premium version for those who need advanced options such as an advanced scheduler and advanced reporting features such as surveillance logging and live reporting with sound effects. This proxy switcher uses an auto-switching module that allows you to switch between HTTP and HTTPS proxies automatically or manually. You can use it with SOCKS v4 or v5, basic HTTP proxies, HTTPS proxies (requires encrypted connections) and authentication protected proxies (basic/digest/NTLMv1 Challenge/NTLMv2 Challenge). The proxy servers (including SOCKS v4 and v5) are encrypted to protect your anonymity.
